COMIC RELIEF

Please just click HERE to make a contribution, direct on the Comic Relief 3 Peaks Africa donations page! Every penny really counts, and so please do go over and send something, no matter how small.

Thank you very much indeed for your help!

Since Comic Relief was launched in 1985 from a refugee camp in Sudan, it has raised over £425million. Red Nose Day 2005 raised more than £65million. Comic Relief’s success has been a tribute to the enduring generosity of the public and to the unflinching, heroic backing of many hundreds of comedians and others across the media and corporate worlds – thank you for adding to that support.

Thanks to you and the money you raise, thousands of poor and disadvantaged people are getting the help they need to turn their lives around.

Of all the money raised on Red Nose Day, 40% will be used to help disadvantaged people and communities across the UK. Whether it be a woman who is in a violent relationship, an older person feeling incredibly alone or a young man struggling to see a way out of depression, Red Nose Day cash is helping to improve - and in some cases save - lives.

£15 will ensure 7 women, who are affected by domestic abuse, get urgent support when they call the National 24 Hour Domestic Violence Helpline – it’s a life-line for women in desperate need of support – no matter what time of the day or night.

£100 can pay for 33 hot, nutritious meals at a lunch club where older people who live on their own can go to socialise, so that they feel less lonely.

The remaining 60% of the money raised will improve the lives of people living in extreme poverty across Africa - from a child struggling to survive on the streets, to a community living in an incredibly poor urban slum.

£5 will buy a bag of seeds for a family living in extreme poverty in Malawi. By growing and selling fruit and vegetables, they can make enough money to survive. £100 will pay for a family in Tanzania to receive healthcare, food, education and counselling so that they are better equipped to care for a loved-one living with HIV/AIDS.

This year’s Red Nose Day is set to be bigger and better than ever so that we can help as many people as possible across the UK and Africa. On their behalf, we thank you.
